Jacques d`Arthois was baptised on 12th October 1613 in Brussels. The Belgian painter largely devoted himself to executing studies of nature and light in the Soignes forest. He also painted various images of churches. His paintings "Wayside", which is exhibited in the Musée National du Louvre, and "Forest Corner" kept inn in Madrid’s Museo del Prado, are two of the more notable works from his broad ouvre.
Jacques d`Arthois is thought to have died in Brussels in either 1684 or 1686.
